The Start Of Something New

So I'm starting today with an outfit of the day post. A start to something new! I'm so happy you can be here for this new journey. :)

My closet is clustered with so much clothes that from here on out I'm challenging myself to see how far I can go without repeating an outfit. I will provide where I purchased them from and whatnot. I love playing dress up so this should be oh so fun!

Today for my first outfit post, I chose to go with something simple and elegant. I love lace. I love leopard print. I love blouses. Actually I'm obsessed, so this combination is very me in every way possible.

Ivory Blouse-- Brand: Pinky, From: Burlington Coat Factory

Beige Lace Shorts-- Brand: Charlotte Russe, From: Charlotte Russe

White Rhinestone Bordered Studs-- From: Burlington Coat Factory

Leopard Flats: Brand: Mossimo Supply Co, From: Target

I should have done these outfit of the day posts sooner! I don't know why I never thought of it. Haha. I hope all you lovelies have a fashionable and fun day! :)

Mustard High Waisted Flared Shorts

High waisted shorts are without a doubt the latest trend for spring. I absolutely love how flirty and elegant it is.

I simply took a pair of shorts that fit me the way I like it and traced out patterns for them. I only traced out one pattern and used it for the front and back pieces. After tracing onto the fabric and cutting them out in total you should have four pieces, two for the front and two for the back.

Be sure to give yourself about 2 to 3 inches so you have fabric to sew the pieces together.

I pleated the shorts to give some dimension, added a band for the top, and a side zipper. I love the flared look because the shorts almost looks like a skirt but not as revealing and has more functionality. Sweet! :)

I wore these shorts with a fuchsia chiffon top and ivory heels.

The perfect outfit for a nice spring day. :)

White Lace Collared High Low Top

High lows, lace, and collars. One of my most favorite combinations in a top.

I started out with a pattern and pinned it the mannequin. I used a top in my closet that I absolutely adored the shape of and traced the pattern out of it.

I debated on a sharp or round collar. Since it's a lace top I thought a round collar would be more appropriate and elegant.

I hemmed the edges, added some buttons and taaa-daaa! Thee finished top! :)

I wore burgandy jeans, gold chandelier earrings, rose gold watch, and my pink kitten heel bow flats with the top.

Soft Leopard Print Boxy Cropped Top

My love for sweetheart busts is not obvious much is it? Haha. I am addicted to the feminine touch. This top is made from another pillow case, yet again. It's such an easy way of reusing old fabrics without having to go purchase more from the fabric store.

The fabric I used was a soft leopard print pattern.

I added an exposed zipper to the back and attached the straps on both sides.

I kept the look very square-like and loose fitting near the waist because I was going for the boxy look.

I paired this simple cropped top with black high waisted shorts, coral wedges, and pink feather earrings.

A simple everyday look for spring or summer. I can't wait until it starts to warm up again. :)
