A Peek Into My Past Designs

I found these photos of a burnt orange dress and turquoise/aqua blouse I made while I was in college about 2 years ago. Hahaha it's so funny to see how much I've learned and improved over the years even though I had a year break from sewing. I apologize for the blurry pictures. I didn't have the best camera at the time, but you can still see my designs.

My burnt orange dress with a gold braided belt, lace tights and beige heels. The dress has a beautiful open draped back but unfortunately I don't have a photo of it. :(

My turquoise/aqua blouse with chandelier earrings and jeans.

Ohhh it's so fun to look back and see how far I've come. I'm not a fashion designer whatsoever, I simply just love sewing and making my own clothes out of inspirations or what I envision. My sewing is not perfect, I make mistakes quite often but through those mess ups I eventually learn to be a better sewer. Just because a garmet I make doesn't turn out perfectly, it's still a nice feeling I created it with my own hands. It takes time and patience for sure and I shall continue to improve with every design I make. Sewing is such a passion of mine and the best hobby I could possibly ever pick up-- it's a nice gateway to my creative side.

I hope you enjoyed my little blast from the past. Haha. :)

5 Minute Cheesecake

Finally! The recipe that I have teased you with and some of you have anticipated so I'm excited to share this!

Yes, it's truueee! It takes only 5 minutes to make this cheesecake recipe. I added strawberries to mine since I didn't want a plain cheesecake, but of course you can put other kind of berries or whatnot to satisfy your cravings.

This is the original recipe that I tried the first time and it didn't turn out too well for me possibly because I didn't follow the directions correctly. :P I used a whole can of condensed milk and it ended up too runny so I had to freeze the cheesecake. This second time around I found a better mixture that worked for me. Yaya!

Switch up the recipe a bit for your own liking. For me, I love revising recipes I find so I can make it my own.

So, these are the only 5 ingredients you'll need for the basic cheesecake. I added strawberries to mine so I technically have 5 ingredients. Hehe.

* 1/2 cup condensed milk (or a little less if you want it less creamy)

* 2 boxes 8 oz cream cheese (leave out an hour before so it can be softer to mix)

* 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice

* cool whip and a graham crust (or whatever crust you prefer)

PLEASE NOTE: The filling I made this time was very thin, so the ingredients above is doubled for those who want a lot of filling. If not, you can cut the ingredients in half. The photos I took was only half of the ingredients above, but I went ahead and revised it for those who want a plain cheesecake or just more filling in general. So sorry for the confusion! Haha.

These were my ingredients:

I began by prepping the strawberries and slicing them into the ready made graham crust.

Then for the cheesecake filling mix the cream cheese, condense milk, lemon or lime juice together until it is thick and creamy.

Afterwards pour the filling into the graham crust and smooth it over. Put a lid or saran wrap over the cheesecake and chill for about 2 to 3 hours. The graham crust came with a plastic covering on top so I just flipped the plastic covering over and used it as a lid. So very neat, yes. :)

Once it's nice and chilled put whip cream on top if you like. I did because I'm addicted to whip cream-- and anything sweet really. Haha.

Cut off a slice or two or three and enjooyyy! The perfect dessert when you're on a crunch for time.

This strawberry cheesecake was fast, easy and so delicious. Definitely a recipe I will be making quite often and I'll be sure to try some different fruits! Give it a try and let me know how it turns out! I hope you like this recipe as much as I do! :)

Darling Alteration: Polka Dot Collared Button Up Top

Polka dots will never everrr go out of style because the pattern is too adorable and playful. You can say I'm a little bit obsessed. :)

I turned this oversized short sleeve collared polka dot top I found for $2 into a simple sleeveless top.

So so easy, trust me. :) Start by folding the top symmetrically then cut the sleeves and bottom of the top.

You can leave the top the way it is or hem it. I decided to hem the top since I'm OCD about it fraying. Those who don't have a sewing machine can simply use Fray Check to avoid fraying.

If you decide to hem the edges simply fold the edge in once or twice and then sew. Afterwards iron the wrinkles out of it.

Simple as that you have a super cute top! :)

Alterations are really fun and easy. With a little cutting and sewing here and there you get a completely different top.

I wore my floral statement necklace which you can find my DIY here, coral wedges from my haul which you can find here, light destroyed jeans, and cream bandeau.

Cute, comfy, and a little dressy-- just the way I like it.

Well, lovelies, I have to start cleaning the apartment then go shopping for some groceries. I think perhaps I shall be making some cupcakes tonight because I need to practice my baking skillsss. Fun shtuff, yes! Haha. :)
